Khalif showed me the power of culture

Khalif’s passion and dedication to bring the African American Museum of Beginnings to Pomona inspired me to learn more about my culture. Unfortunately, I grew up with an undeveloped pride in my culture. I hadn’t found my flavor to contribute to the melting pot of America.

His knowledge about the African diaspora and uncanny ability to take complex, uncomfortable historical information and chunk them into palatable chunks has produced thousands of children and adults with increased racial and cultural pride. Through this racial socialization, he is developing high-esteemed individuals. High-esteemed individuals feel more positive and are more likely to give back to their communities.

I am inspired to learn more, I am inspired to share more. I am inspired to travel to historical sites. I am inspired to learn about other cultures and appreciate their uniqueness. Generations to come will be empowered because of Khalif Rasshan.
