Jonah showed me the power of courage
My son, Jonah, reminds me daily to be courageous, because despite being adopted from Taiwan, leaving his entire world at the age of six, not knowing the language or anybody, he was able to fully become a part of our family, and our Pomona community through his many friends, school, activities and sports. Though he was killed in a drive-by in 2017, he continues to remind me to be courageous and live for the rest of my family, and for others as we have been honoring his memory and courage through a scholarship foundation supporting Pomona students.
