Derek and Lisa showed me the power of servant leadership
Derek and Lisa are the Pomona site leaders for Servant Partners, an international organization that works alongside the urban poor to find Christian-based strategies to serve those in need.
The servant leadership modeled by Derek and Lisa has served as a catalyst for change in Pomona through their participation in various organizations including ICON and Clean & Green Pomona. Whether it be social justice issues such as job opportunities, or environmental justice issues such as industrial regulations, their focus on transformative social change through public policy and public involvement will positively affect the Pomona community in ways that will continue long after they are gone. Derek and Lisa “…did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give [their] life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45.)
